Permissions

Info

  • App access is a term that refers to provisioning an app to an org. This is an activity that only Seek Admins can perform.
  • Permissions are the rules that govern who can access an app and what they can do with it. Permissions are generally managed by Org Admins.

Users are able to view apps they have been granted permission to directly or through a team. If a user is a member of multiple teams, they will have access to all the apps that are shared with any of those teams.

Managing App Access

To view and modify (if able) what apps an org has, go to the "Apps" section of the Org Admin page. Here you will see a table of all the apps that the org has access to. You can filter this list by app name, and sort by app name or status. The status column will tell you if the app is installed or not.

If you are a seek admin, you will be able to grant and revoke access to new apps for the organization.

Modifying User Permissions

As an admin, to change a user's direct permissions, you need to go to that user's settings page. Go to the Users section of Org Admin, locate the user of interest, and click the edit icon on the far right. This will take you to the user's settings page. From there, you can navigate to the "Apps & Reports" section to manage the apps and reports that the user has access to. The permissions table will tell you if the user has access to an app through a team or individually.

  1. Navigate to the Org Admin Users management page
  2. Click the edit icon to the right of the user you want to manage - use the search box to find the user by name or email
  3. Click "Apps & Reports" in the left navigation
  4. Grant access in bulk by using the checkboxes on the left side of the table, or individually by clicking the "Grant Access" icon on the right side of the table.

Modifying Team Permissions

As an admin, go to the Teams section of the Org Admin page to manage team permissions. Click the edit icon to the right of a team to navigate to the team settings page, then select the "Apps & Reports" section. Here you can manage the apps and reports that the team has access to. On the team's permissions table, it will tell you if the team has access to an app through a team or individually.
